"I was amazed at how fast and positively Lucy's coaching impacted me! She's simultaneously gentle and dynamic, and within the first week of the programme I already had a clearer vision of what I was searching for and how I might achieve it. I started doing things I'd put off for years, like writing and producing artwork. I even enrolled in painting school, which is something I've always dreamt of doing."

Hello, I'm Lucy, Head Coach and Founder at Black Flamingo
The reason I set all this up is because I know that long-term, sustainable change is very difficult to achieve on your own and have experienced the transformative power of coaching myself. We all need someone who can ask the right questions and keep us accountable to our promises.
Who am I, as a Coach?
After a decade working as a professional writer (and almost four decades being human), I've come to believe that in every challenging experience, however painful, there's opportunity for growth. Sometimes we just need help to see it and use it but, once we do that, magic often happens.
When you work with me, you’ll find the clarity, commitment and conviction that you need to reach new heights in both your professional and personal life. You’ll start to respect your vulnerabilities and supposed 'demons' and transform obstacles into opportunities and fear into courage.
I'll use a variety of therapeutic and creative techniques to help you stay motivated and inspired, unlock your best ideas and take your work to a new level. I intend to help you crystallise your vision and learn how to say no to that which doesn't serve your purpose or your growth. It's my intention to keep you galvanised, accountable, and to shine a light on your self-sabotage.
I work with a small number of clients to whom I promise to offer my mind, heart and intuition in every session. Spaces are limited to those I genuinely believe I can help and who are committed to transformation. My style is warm, humorous and energetic. This work can bring up plenty of deep and serious stuff and it can also be lots of fun, all you have to do is remain as honest and open-hearted as possible. The rest is just process - it happens when you're not looking (a bit like when plants grow).
A bit about my background:
I've worked for a decade as a freelance writer; had hundreds of articles published in various newspapers and magazines; been a columnist at The Sunday Telegraph and Easy Jet Magazine and; written web and marketing copy for a range of health and travel brands.
I've also written a book about my adventures in women's Triathlon, the crazy races I did and the wonderful people I met. It's called 'Run, Ride, Sink or Swim', published by Faber & Faber in both the UK and US (2015, 2017).
I've been a guest on Radio 1, Radio 2, BBC London, Radio Oxford and BBC World Service and appeared as a speaker at Belfast Book Festival, Ways With Words Festival and The London Triathlon Show.
I'm currently also working towards qualification as a psychotherapist and I live in South London, with my partner, son and two very hungry cats.
